Hi all. Was over at my local BMW dealer y'day and saw/ sat in the new M3. Stunning, and got me running home to my calculator to see how I could make it work.

BUT have just seen the Autocar internet vid on it and Chris Harris has a rather worrying moment when his brake pedal goes all mushy... Surely on a £50k+ car this shouldn't happen? I know M brakes have had this reputation, but hoped it would be resolved by now. What do any owners out there think? Are they ever a problem? Seems to me I'd be better off buying an E46 M3 CSL with the usual brake upgrade and saving £20k at the same time. Having sat in the E92 it is (to my mind) a much smarter place to be, but is it worth a £20k premium whilst always knowing the brakes aren't that much cop...?

Maybe once or twice - nothing too dramatic though.

I'd be less inclined to worry then. Harris is a reasonable pedaller, he'll have worked the pedals very hard during his timed lap.

If you search on this forum there's another thread about the E92 M3 brakes, where mine had to go back to the dealer.
