Top Gear mag this month.

Yet another test of the M3.

Yet another win for the M3.

Yet another journo doing his best to pour scorn on the car despite acknowledging it's the best of the bunch.

This is you this is...

"Yeah I used to like that band but they've so sold out y'know... mainstream".

Boring. Credit where it's due. Scornful journalism back to school please.

Because it's fashionable to knock the M3 because, you know, it's not as pure as the E30.

Much the same way as it was fashionable to knock any quattro equipped Audi, because they weren't as pure as the UR-quattro.

Or knock any quick Ford, because they were as pure as the 3dr Cosworth. Or any quick Pug hatch against the 205 GTi.

I've come to the conclusion that all motoring Journalists are actually a hive-mind (similar in concept to the Borg) trapped in an 80's timewarp of Paisley shirts, Duran-Duran, and old-style Ring-pulls.

The hive-mind posts here you know.

Can you guess its name?

At least they've acknowledged the superiority of the M3 over it's rivals, so I suppose the rose-tinted approach currently in vogue is preferable to the power-blinded methodology it replaced. I was expecting the C63 to win all the M3 v RS4 v C63 tests by virtue of the "feel the power!!!" vote. I remember the 350Z cleaning up in group tests against the TT 3.2 and the RX8 on the strength of having the biggest number in the power column, dispite looking like a Lego Technic model of a TT.

Although I recall Clarkson recently favoured the E63 Estate over the M5 Touring on the most-power basis, so rose-tinting hasn't entirely taken over.

I got a TOP Gear subscription as a present, now I know why I never brought it on a regular basis, yes that review was reasonable towards the M3, but why do they have to prattle on, like they hope there's a pullitzer for car mags
