OK, OK......

So here goes. I have plunged in with both feet and expect plenty of "Bagpuss"-, "Stig"- or "Honest Journalist"-type insults!

Will it open floodgates if I ask you guys what you think of MN at the moment? I would like sensible replies, and definitely none from Ben.

Best article I read in MN lately was the Formula Student one by Sam Collins. More stuff like this please Matt.

29 ( got this from "sharp-end", no:5 for those who don't know his new nickname,he must of hacked it from a TVR laptop over the weekend)

Matt,

Could you please change the ink you use to print MN so that it doesn't come off on your fingers, oh, and could you please do more features on TVR, well on me really, particularly as a Top Tuscan driver, no, Tuscan ace sounds better, and don't bother writing any comments about drivers outside the top six, we can,t have people knowing about the real backbone of the series, you know, those chaps who have turned up at every race for the last 5 or 6 years, and never get mentioned, bloody right to, as most of them are too old or too slow. So there you go, just stick with us "ACES", forget the "also-rans", that's my advice.

Yours, completly locked up,

BenThreebonnets

p.s All my real friends call me "ACE" and my special friend Pete, even calls me his little ace in the hole, mind you, he mumbles a bit and it sounds like he's saying "Acehole", still i know what he means, such a sweet old guy.

Oh Marvellous.. try and break through my glory days why don't you.

We all know that being in the top 6 is what it's all about.. the rest is totally insignificant.. also rans.. old hats.. oh and by the way's...

If fame is what you seek then I am available for driving tips on a regular basis which may allow you to a) be quicker than me throughout a whole race (hee hee) b) not 'do like a top' and spin, and c) just look as damn handsome as me and be at the very sharp end.

Of course.. All of the above should be adjusted accordingly depending upon where I am in the champioship... I mean if Tim Hood or that other insignificant chap.. Rodney Hawthorns somehow manage to weedle their way up the list then my fame and adulation should continue to be present in all major reporting both at the circuit and in print.

Never let it be said that the focus for the Sharp End is unfoccused.. it is well and truly established and through the love of God, Her Majesty the Queen, and the woman in the local pub it shall continue.

Must go... my fans await me....

... well it is rather hot in here!

C U at the next one boys.. I'll check in my mirrors and look for blunt-like cars!

Liquid lunch No:5?

I don't recall No 6 spinning at all, you must be thinking of No 28 (aka TwoBonnets) in testing Or that nice MrThreeBonnets?

You check your mirrors mate When I retired in the Feature Race you were in 13th place and I was in, ooh, 14th.... And I'm just in my first Tuscan weekend....

(awaits the 'To finish first, first you have to finish' reposte...)

Nothing like a bit of healthy intra-team rivalry

I have nothing further to say to you sharp end, your unmerited success has swollen your already oversized head to the point of exploding, and given you delusions of grandeur way above your station in life, and well beyond your slack driving abilities. In my humble and modest opinion, you are a crap driver who is destined to spend the rest of your meaningless race driving life looking, at ever increacing distances, at the back end of my car. I have had the following logo made up which will now appear on the rear of my superior machine

IF YOU CAN READ THIS NO:5, THEN YOU ARE DRIVING WELL BEYOND YOUR ABILITIES, SLOW DOWN BEFORE YOU HURT YOURSELF

I finish with a simple fact 1:41:5 need I say more!!

Ok Matt, to bring this back on topic - today's MN article on the Tuscans at Rockingham was pretty poor IMHO. It didn't feature a picture and the column inches devoted to it were tiny - despite it being a superb race. In comparison the very dull GT race got a lot of space. And whilst the F3 cars clearly suffered on the kerbs at the chicane on Turn 1, why did you need to repeat the same story throughout the publication?

We had it on the front page. We had it on page 5. Then for good measure we also had it on pages 24 and 25. Yes it was dramatic, and yes it need to be covered. But pages 24 and 25 didn't add anything to the story that hadn't already been said on page 5.

And yes naturally I am biased towards the Tuscans!!

I could give answers to all those points about trying to get everything covered in the page I was granted, etc, etc. GT being a British Championship and all that...
However, I won't! Mind you, I think Tuscans gets pretty good coverage compared to what it gets elsewhere.
What some people forget is that we aren't duty bound to cover anything. The coverage TVR gets is mostly because I love the series...

Could someone point out to the F3 teams that the way to stop the problems with the kerbs at Rockingham is to STOP BLOODY DRIVING OVER THEM YOU WALLIES!!!

To be fair it is bloody difficult to take that chicane quickly without taking some kerb. But there again I was driving something that wants to take off the whole time, not just when you go 'off road'.

taking a step further down the motorsports ladder to the more clubby end of things, it does seem that you go a long way to include the results of just about everything that goes on. my only complaint there is that you dont appear to have listed my name high enough in the list of finishers, but then maybe thats my fault

i understand that space is a preminum, but it would be nice if you could say pick a differnet championship each week / month and do a little write up on what the championship (or series as they wont give us a championship despite having more cars than a lot of championships ) is all about, kind of linking into your go racing for £2.50 in a hot hatch article

I imagine that kind of thing would be a usefull resource for someone considering getting into racing.

other than that top job

Cheers

Ahhaaa.. quoting your body measurments to me do little... my force is strong. You forget my tactics.. keep behind the car in front and WILL them off.. you may no doubt have seen this working..(Tim Hood, Pete Osborne, yourself.. and even the new boy Stockton).. all have fallen foul to my powers. Finishing quickly is not always best.. ask Diane!!

I am of course willing to forgive you for the viscous attack you have made (and it would have been more impactful if you had let me find it instead of telling me on the phone you silly bugger!!!) as I respect my (much) elders and take on board their flashes of wisdom. However I would just like to point out one tiny thing.. I'm 6th, your 7th so ner nee ner ner!
:-) Yours.. always
