How much for a Diff + Gearbox oil change ?

You can use BMW long life diff fluid, personally I have just used Royal Purple Max Gear. The viscosity is 75W 140.

You need 2 litres (diff takes 1.6 litres) this will be about 30 quid.

I had a fluid change in my 2001 M5 recently.

Prices were (at an indy...)

Diff Oil:

13.50 labour (diff oil)
18.00 labour (gearbox oil)

Fluids:

29.00 MTF LT2
12.25 MSP

(not sure which fluid is which!!)

(All prices are ex vat!)

Well it all got done, It needed new Diff seals as well.

Gear Oil
Diff Oil
Diff Seals
Breather Hose's
MOT
4 Wheel Alignment
PAS Cap + Hose's replaced

All for £486 @ Bexely Motor Works...

Don't feel to bad about that.
