VT to VX owners - who is still around?
Discussion
Jag,
Still here mate...
As you know: 2001 VX GTS 300 no 170. (Genuine Oz) and can I mention Paulines V2 Series III Monaro?
Hope all is well in Oz, hope Lynne and Dan are well... Dan will be getting his HSV soon! 5 or 6 years? Scary!
We know there is lots of aural car pleasure.
We've been busy with new? (old) house renovation so we've been a bit quiet for about six months.
Getting there now, but a couple of months away from a comfortable life!
Hope you've been keeping in touch with Rob?_EH! Like the link?
Cheers
Eric

009 - that's my old car, which I had from new. I'd driven a Sierra Cosworth with heavy duty warpaint (full Ford Motorsport blue stripes) for over ten years and wanted something a bit more sedate in the way of paintwork. Bright gold seemed about right. I see you've toned it down a bit more ...

vt2 gts supercharged build no 23
half heartedly for sale ;-)
what the hell can you ever replace these things for.... vxr8 - which is slower and costs a fortune in tax.... everything else seems poo...
vxr8 is good. I dont like coupe's No good for guests etc. Stock its definately faster than the old model, which would need a full tune and exhaust to match. Though if you have mods its obviously not going to keep up.half heartedly for sale ;-)

I like the stability of the vxr8 over the old VT. It feels much more planted. Also the bluetooth phone is cool. Plus mp3 6 stack player. Brakes are good too. 365mm fronts and 360mm rears. Boot is even larger than the VT by the looks.
Take one for a drive if you have the old model. Its not hugely different, more of an evolution than revolution but its a good ugrade in any case. I upgraded mainly for the improved handling, brakes and strangely E38 ECU.
Hi Ian
Loved it, but compared to my Cossie I found it very 'sedate', which was actually fine for a while. Changed it for a 500bhp naturally aspirated Monaro in 2002 (auto), which I still have, though I'm looking sell shortly to move on to a supercharged manual (750 bhp, 8mpg). I suppose I've got the bug.
