I have been trying to pair my phone with a 2007 XJ and have almost succeeded. Although the car is recognising the phone and will make a call no one can hear what I am saying although I can hear them clearly. Sadly I dont have the owners manual so I am hoping someone can help me out.

Your phone is paired just fine, but the microphone in the car sounds like it is broken. Same happened to me in my 2007 XKR, they had hidden the mic behind the trim on the drivers 'A' pillar to make it look tidy, but no one could hear. The mic is now in front of the trim and all is ok, so I would suggest you need to get the mic changed. Which XJ do you have? You happy with it?

Its a 2007 XJ diesel. It isnt mine its my girlfriends. She used to sell Jags and always talked about how good the XJ was. I managed to pick one up quite cheaply and she loves it. I would have prefered a 535d, but she wasnt having it. Its not a bad car, quite refined, very comfortable and its quicker than I expected. It wouldnt be my first choice, but now that she has her car, I can have mine.
