Not sure which section to post but I am trying to find out about what causes a Tyre to go Egg Shape.

Basically to cut a long story short my Rear Toyo R888's which have been on the car for around 250 miles have been diagnosed as Egg Shape. The first time I noticed a problem was some very odd vibrations when driving the car at all speeds which would appear and disappear.

I am sending over some pictures to my supplier who will in turn forward to Toyo.

The tyres apparently don't look round and there is a horizontal graining across the centre of the tyre which would be best described as lots of cuts in the tyre 1 - 2 inches long, almost as if the tyre is delaminating.

How does this happen? and could it be anything I have done.

I'm hoping that Toyo will refund the cost of the Tyres but it does seem odd it has happened to both, the fronts look fine which were fitted at the same time.

Thank you

are they the same batch of tyres all round ?

sounds very much like a manufacturing fault to me - be wary of the others if same batch number.

I had a tyre do this a while ago and it was due to the wires/plies breaking down , replaced free of charge by tyre shop
