Got back at 3am. The water pump bearings have failed and I need a new pump. Called Geoff today and he has just used his last one. He has given me the number of a Chevrolet parts dealer he uses a lot in the US. Claremont has a second hand pump but if I can get a new one before the Capel show I will. Geoff warned that they are not cheap, and I may pay around £500 for one.

The car should be ok. I'm sure I stopped before any damage was done. I only lost a bit of water, the temp gauge was around the point where the fans would cut in when in trafic and the oil temp was normal.

The 2 and a bit hour wait on the M25 was a p*ss take but thats the AA for ya. At least the contractor they sent out took care when loading and unloading the car.

It might be worth having a look or making an enquiry on ZR1net and lt5registry for the water pump, make sure the 90 pump is compatible with the other years.

You had some late nights last week, must have been shattered.

Water pump list price for a '90 ZR1 - $595

Price for being a ZR1 net gold member (at a cost of $10) - $416.69

The part has been ordered and should be here in 5-7 days. Now that was $10 well spent.

Should be back on the road just in time for the Capel show.
