Hi guy's

We are just about to embark on our first trackday next weekend, and after sorting out the gearbox, new brakes, new tyres and buying spares we might need. I noticed we have crack in the front screen it is near the bottom of the screen and runs parallel with scuttle panel(about 6" long).

Will we be allowed to still take the car on the track or should we cancel now as not sure we have budget for new screen at the moment.

Car is peugeot 205.

thanks in advance

I haven't ever seen a car prevented from going on track because of a cracked screen!! I race with a cracked screen, & the scrutineers never say anything!!

Is the car insured? If so does the policy have windscreen cover?

A judiciously placed black vinyl strip to compliment a top of screen decal would probably tide you over... imagine something like this with a black vinyl strip on the lower screen.

Unfortunately it is just used for track day so no insurance to speak of (it used to be raced in the stock hatch series.)

The idea of the sunstrip sounds good.

Thanks for the advice guy's, I may just risk it.;)

dont wory about it that will not be a problem (and it will be a laminated screen anyway so it can only crack not shatter)

nice pic of the 205T16 !
