Hi All,

My girlfriend really fancies buying a GTV. Having read the very helpful threads on the forum, we are thinking of getting a 3.0 V6 in Silver.

I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good insurance company. Not sure if there is anyone who specialises in Alfa insurance. Probably will only be used at weekends.

Cheers,

James

Chris Knott will try and save all AROC members 10% off their insurance so it's worth ringing round and then trying them. http://www.ckinsurance.co.uk/car_insurance_1.html
If they come up trumps it's worth the AROC membership fee!!
biggrin

Have a look at A-Plan they offer club related discounts. Just keep away from Swift, they are cheap but there is a reason for that!

How do you get 4 years NCB at 20 then?

Just joined the GTV V6 club - the insurance is £100+ pa cheaper than my previous S2000. Fuel prices should offset the saving soon though.

Thanks for all the answers.

Is the GTV V6 club - the Alfa Romeo Owners Club?

I think the cheapest quote that I found was about £370 through e-sure. That was based on 6k a year. Its not going to be used for commuting, only as a weekend vehicle.

Cheers,

James

Hi - I have a Silver 3.0 V6 with Tan leather - looks fantastic:

I thought the red was a bit garish for the light silver exterior, and black was just too damn depressing.

If you are going to buy one of these cars, the interior should be just as individual as the outside!

Well that's my opinion anyway.

As for insurance - we got a good deal with a joint insurance (main driver + spouse/partner) policy from Diamond - you should try this but remember to put your partner as the main driver or it will cost a fortune. Both of you get fully comp a lot cheaper than individual policies.

No photos yet - haven't had a chance to get out the Zaino. It's the same colour as yours, sans the spoiler, and with a pimp red interior.
