You guessed it - mine's gone off again even though it's not due for a service until November. Curiously it says "35,000 miles" + spanner symbol which is odd when you consider it's supposed to be every 10,000 miles. Also, it's only done 21k. Is there any way to permanently turn off this ridiculous reminder or at least reset it to reflect the car's true mileage?

I think I've sussed it: 35,000 kms = 21747 miles. My car currently reads 21263; taking into account it came on about 100 miles ago I'm wondering if it's giving me a 1000km warning until it requires a 35,000km service. In other words the ODO reads miles while the service reminder is still calibrated for kilometers.

Does this sound reasonable?

from what ive picked up Vauxhall/Holden cocked up on the KM/MPH conversion as you've already worked out, you can reset the reminder with the sequence found in the FAQ but it does not reset the mileage of the next reminder

On the way back from Touring Cars at Oulton Park yesterday, I got a 15,000 service reminder. Swift conversion from my odometer reading of over 8,000 miles gave 14,000 kms. So yes, a 1,000 km pre-warning of service would appear to be pre-set in the software.

I'll need to check but I am sure you can change the service schedule in efi

Last night after getting back from the cinema, my display flashed up "service Engine Oil" with a nice little pic of an oil can. The car had a full service in November and has only done about 6,000 miles. Should I just ignore it until I put it in later this year for a full service?

My reminder popped up as well last week. Thing is, until it's reset it'll bleep and flash at you everytime you start the car. To reset it yourself do the following:

1. Whilst holding up/down arrows on the computer, turn ignition on and wait for the beeps
2. Display showes "Service Reset?"
3. Hold "SET" for a few seconds until it beeps
4. Display shows "No Items"
5. Turn off ignition
