If so, may I have pointers please biggrin

apologies if I have missed this elsewhere!! I have looked, and searching is not helping frown

you will need to use winpwn or the mac alternative to go to 2.0 at the moment.

Its not that hard and works ok . . just dont goto 2.0.1 yet

Why would you bother with 2.0, when it's bugridden?
Unless there's something I'm forgetting about 2.0 on 2.5G iPhones, sit back and relax with 1.1.4 for the time being.

I'm on 2.0 to support push e-mail on MS exchange. I have noticed that 2.0 isn't quite up to Apple's usual standards and has crashed a few times, and it quite slow to switch between apps.

Is this usually the type of thing fixed by a firmware update?

Still love it though cloud9

2.0.1
Although 2.1 is apparently in the works.

2.0 wasn't that bad. It was quite useable. Not perfect, granted, as it wasn't entirely stable and did just occasionally lag. Still, thats what 2.0.1 is out to fix. And it's not like Apple kept folks waiting long for it either smile

P,
1.1.4 is lagging for me at the moment, has done since the day 3G came out funnily enough, I was hoping that upgrading to v2 would help......

So in summary...

If you're on 1.1.4 stay on it unless you need the extras that 2.0 brings?
If you're on 2.0 stay on it until 2.0.1 has been jailbroken?

So if I'm asked for an update from 2.0 to 2.0.1 next time I sync with iTunes will it re-lock my phone? (I unlocked using pwnage tool 2.0 on a Mac)

Cheers

Iain

I had very few problems with 2.0 Certainly not enough to justify going back to 1.1.4 anyway. But yes, I guess it won't hurt to wait for 2.0.1 to be hackable too. I expect that will be sorted any day now, if it hasn't been done already..

I'd imagine you'll find yourself locked out using 2.0.1 - so hang tight until you see word of Pwnage unlocking 2.0.1
Of course, you can be brave and update it, then see if Pwnage unlocks it for you.
If not, then you can always restore 2.0 and unlock it, and bide your time until you can update and unlock without any hassles.

Yes.. There is a link somewhere to download V2.0, I can find it if you need it. Once you have the file, open iTunes, plug the phone in, and hold down the ALT key while pressing 'check for update'
This lets you install from an OS file you downloaded already. Point iTunes to the file and away you go.
