Disabling brake pad wear indicator on A4
Discussion
I've just had some new discs/pads fitted to my A4 (3.0 Quattro Avant 2004) in another attempt to get some discs that won't warp. Unfortunately the EBC Yellow Stuff pads that were recommended for them came with no pad wear indicators or slots to insert them into. I now have the very large yellow warning permanently on....anyone know if there's an easy way to disable it?
Take the old pads and cut off the plug that connects to the pad wear sensor, leaving enough wire to allow you to strip both wires and twist them together.
Job done.
If you don't have the old pads, I've got a spare plug from an S3, but not sure if the connector is the same - You can have it if it'll fit

That's odd. The ones I've seen have been a simple wire embedded in the pad that earths via the disc when the pads wear down far enough. With these, leaving them disconnected disables the warning. Do you have some other sort on that car?Gassing Station | Audi, Seat, Skoda & VW | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
