Esprit stops production!

Per the January 28, 2002 issue of Autoweek
magazine :

"Lotus Cars USA CEO Artie Johnson says a
federalized Lotus Elise will be in US showrooms
by fall 2003. Bringing the Elise over is not a
matter of choice for the US arm of the sports car
maker. It needs the Elise to replace the Esprit,
which will depart in mid-2003."

Tell me it isn't so!

Wait until you see what's replacing it!. Does 450 h.p. V8 with a 6 speed and a body out of Star Wars make you drool?.

The tail lights on the 2002 should have been a tip-off as to the market that they are going after...Aloha Enzo!.
