I need some advice...

Had a 1 litre bottle of engine oil in a storage box under my seat. Noticed the other day my feet were slipping on the mat and about 300-500ml of oil has leaked into the footwell. I've soaked a lot up, used degreaser & had it steam cleaned but nothing has really helped.

The fitted mat is soaked with oil, and if you run a finger through the pile of the carpet it picks up oil, it has also seeped into the back of the car.

My Audi dealer suggested the only other option would be a re-trim which sounds costly, is it something I could claim on insurance?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Pete

Bilt Hamber Surfex HD, and a wet/dry vacuum - steamer will no next to sod all squared, same too for the soaking up. Don't know what degreaser you used, but it wasn't strong enough by the sounds of it.
