Warning light on - lost manual! - help!

A light's just come on in the dash - a solid circle, surrounded by a broken circle (but with no top or bottom on the broken one). If you see what I mean!

I think it's the brake pad wear indicator, but just need to confirm this with your good selves.

I seem to recall this being brake pads or handbrake warning. Shouldnt be anything to panic about but get it checked.

I believe Craig is spot on, pads (& new indicator wires) it is, hope your flexible friend isn't too rigid !!!

Car's booked in for its 72k mile service next week (ouch!!) so will get the pads replaced then. Might need new tyres as well, so I reckon my flexible friend will be working overtime.

General rule of thumb:

Orange light. Book your car in for a service.
Red light. Call the AA.
