All critical in whether I buy the 15 spokers on the car I am thinking of getting. Depends how much I could get for these second hand (excellent condition)

I guess they could be be used for track days or something? Or do they fit other cars?

Dave

(currrently going through a big buying dilema - beige or avorio, sebring or nettuno?????)

Beige better than Avorio. Tan nice also.

Blu Nettuno the best colour -mine was in that with Beige!

set of standard wheels are for sale on E-bay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2438755763&category=40263

Probably best to keep them and put some ultra sticky track rubber on for track days.

What spec / age / price are you after?

What is the problem with avorio? does is discolour badly due to the lightness of the leather? Can it be cleaned easily?

Up here in Scotland the dealer seems to order a lot of cars in avorio, personally I thgink beige or cuoio are nice. Burgandy is also attractive but needs to be specified with a black carpet and a silver or grey exterior to look good. Just my opinion of course

I agree that Bob at Glenvarigill seems to like Avorio! My 3200 had beige which I think is the best compromise between Avorio (too light, gets dirty) and Cuoio (tan) which is very rich and a bit too dark!

Very nice looking 3200 I must say!

Given the pricing of 4200s (as discussed in a previous thread) did they do you a very attractive deal on it (against the asking price) or are 3200 prices still pretty firm?

Blue nettuno, avorio with beige piping and the 15 spokers - cos I had to have them.

The deal wasn't the best in the world but I bought with my heart not my head . . . .

Where should I advertise the old wheels.

4.5 days to go.

Enjoy the car. Apart from a few issues I have mentioned before they are great.

I recently sold my V plate manual 3200GT and the dealer network did not want to know - all the usual excuses - so it eventually went to an independent who has since sold it. I found that Meridien did not even have the manners to reply to my e-mail.

Value wise, trade is about £8k off retail but with most cars needing a warranty and service when they are sold, the gap closes by about £2-2.5k; more if tyres needed also. The standard of main dealer offered cars is high...but you'll need the warranty!!

8K!! That's amazing, the trade- retail gap for my XKR is just £3800 (for a similar value / performance machine) What was the difference with the indipendant you sold to?

£4500 asking spread but in the time it took them to sell it it needed its 4th year service, MOT and tax or about £1200 spent. The tyres were not in their first flush of youth either and the laquer was lifting off the wheels too! (poss £800 extra spend depending on how hard the buyer negotiated)...oh and the warranty only had two weeks left on it when it was sold and I was quoted £1400 to renew it!

With VAT to pay on the profit you can see why main dealers ask £8k margin to settle on £6k for a deal therefore about £2k of clear profit. If servicing and warranty prices were 'normal' for 3200's then they could ask £2k less for the cars in the first place!!
