Okay, here's a wierd one for you. How come my View Source (right click or from menu) has stopped working in Internet Explorer ?!?

(XP, IE6, nothing installed of note recently)

Is it possible to repair or reinstall IE6 ?

Clear out your cache and it will start working again.

No idea why but it works!

Some web pages are designed not to allow sources to be viewed aren't they?

I'm not a website programmer, but the company I work for has recently removed right clicking, and the ability to view sources from some of it's webpages.

It took the techie guys about 2 minutes to do it....

But does it also disable it in the view menu in explorer?

But then there's always a way round these things.

It's not difficult to get around measures like that. Usually it just makes people more determined!

Has anyone an example for a page, that tries to hide the source/RMB menu?

As far as I know, it disables everything!

When you use the view-source menu, you get a blank screen.

Since my post this morning, I've discovered that the pages that our guys have disabled features on, are currently being beta tested for security and although are on the internet, they are hidden urls.... I daren't give the address away, but once they have been tested and are online, I'll post the urls so you can see what you think.

Then give me 2 minutes and I'll email the source code back

On the Internet Explorer menu go to Tools/Internet Options/Programs and tell what the HTML editor option is.

That would really p155 the techies in my office off...... which isn't necessarily a bad thing....
