As I wasn't happy with the pick up and cold running of my car I thought it was time for new Distributor caps,rotors and spark plugs.

I had seen a guide on how to do it here;

http://p-car.com/diy/sparkplug/

It went fairly smoothly, apart from the upper right bank plug hidden under the PAS pump.

The guide said allow 4 hours....took me just over 8 all in!

The 12th plug is a complete nightmare to do,I was looking with mirrors & torches, i got the socket lost & stuck down the hole quite a few times..a nightmare.!

With perseverence and some ingenuity I finally got there.I really would reccpmend this be done by a main dealer or specialist as they probably have a special tool that they let the contortionist lose with.

The car is really running well and pulls much better in any gear,the lsd came into play in 3rd during my test run on a wet road.
I wonder how may 12 plug cars are out there with only 11 changed? it would make servicing a lot simpler!

You jest William surely

Just spark plugs this time, not a complete ground up rebuild like before.

p.s. Boost is fun...but you can't beat displacement for real fun!

Find a short length of hosepipe that is gripping the spark plug, and locate it in COLD HEAD only watch the threads there fine,or
use a magnetic plug socket and avoid dropping inside head space ake me how i know this...

Paul, I must admit to chickening out of this recently - I let Silverstone do it when they gave it a 48K service (@30,000). I told myself it was risky for warranty implications ..... as if the PSS9 wasn't!

Cheers, Maurice

It sounds like you were wise before the event Maurice,
I don't think I will be doing this again!
