OK, so when my spyder went on the road, 350bhp in a car that weighed the same as a bag of chips seemed to be seen as fast! Now it seems that around 1000bhp and twin afterburners in an ultima is the norm! - so to save face, what could I realistically (and cheaply!) do to "up" the BHP on my standard carb zz4 5.7 lump?
EG: Electronic ignition, mapping, fuel injection? NOS?
large mouse in a wheel?
Are there any real easy fixes to get a bit more BHP? Another 10-15% would be fine.

Is this something you would do yourself?

If not then I would contact Peter Knight and get a price for a rebuild.

If you do want to do it yourself then I could help you develop a spec but will need to know as much as possible about what is currently in, and on, your engine.

There are others here who may be interested/willing to take on the job.

I'm sure you can get 400 hp + from ZZ4 with just a more aggressive cam and rejet carb appropriately. Perhaps a manifold required as well if you don't already have a Performer RPM or equivalent.

Whenever I want to pick the brains of some experienced/smart engine builders, I always post a question at www.chevytalk.com in their performance forum. Very informative guys who can tell you exactly what that ZZ4 can handle. Grumpyvette really knows his stuff. Cheers!

You could fit a Rolls Royce Olympus engine. Since they took Concorde out of service, there are a few going spare.

I love the smell of AvGas in the morning....

Thanks for the advice.... I like the Concorde engine route, but didnt it have TWO engines on it? one seems so tame for my soyder. I have two bungy cords avaliable so I think the pair should do it!.
