I bought one of these about 9 months ago to send the WiFi from one end of the house to the other

http://www.devolo.co.uk/uk_EN/spezial/dLANspezial1...

It worked perfectly, in fact I've recommended it to other people who've bought one and been happy.

However, in the last month the speed has dropped from "mega fast" to a dribble. I've tried different patch cables, PCs, even electrical plugs for it to go in, but it seems my houses' wiring just can't support it any more. Yet there have been no changes. The odd blown light bulb.

Any ideas???

One of mine failed because the internal connection to the aerial had broken. Re-soldered, and replaced the whole top bit with a bigger one.

Or interference from another WLAN ? Try setting the channel to one end or the other ?

Dunno, they just sort of work. Not that much you can play with.

I don't *think* I have an ariel as this is one that just extends an RJ45 connection.

Ah, sorry, thought it was the devolo Wifi extender.

Erm, dunno. Even less to change on the wired ones. They don't like being plugged into things with surge protection, but that is ruled out.

Devolo support are fairly helpful (for Germans) ?
