Sad old mini Driver

I was Driving through Harrogate in my MINI Cooper (New one), On Friday 17th. Saw a nice little old Red/white mini waiting at the traffic lights near the exhibition centre. It was heavily tweaked, so i had a quick peek. Like you do when you are a car nut. Only to have a few fingers stuck up at me. Now i know my cars not a real mini (Everything works on it). I just think that it's a sad state when the OLD/NEW mini debate has been taken to this level. Having said that, if you're a real car fan you probably won't know about this site anyway.

I agree, don't worry about it !! I think new Mini is a great little car. Ok, it's not as inovative or as radical as the original, it's unlikely to have as long a production run, it's aimed at a totally different market sector, and may not have such a passionate following here in the UK, but time moves on !! There will always be "small minded" people out there, they were there when the MG Metro/Maestro/Monti came out claiming they were badge engineering and not real MG's (like the MG1300 and Magnette weren't badge engineered !!) I'm sure without those cars, whatever views you have of them, there wouldn't be an MG Rover at all by now. So, if new Mini keeps the name alive, great. If it generates interest in the original mini, even better !!

I know the prices were high for a while, when Jane got hers she could have sold it on for a profit.
We had a fully specced car when the car went to have a roof colour changed, the only thing I didn’t like was the sat nav means you lost the centre Speedo, also when the black sunroof is put in a white roof doesn’t look right.

It was the first time I have ever met a mini driver I didn't like.
pretty sad state of affairs, reminds me of something I read by a new mini owner who'd been to a Mini ('old' mini) show - came back to his car that was heavily scratched, had been sat on and generally vandalised. scum.
shame that anything regarding cars always seems to attract the best and the worse kind of people...
