All,

Just to "welcome" myself to the forum; I'm an avid 'vette (well, anything GM really) enthusiast... I have a '91 ZR1 (99% stock) and - as I like 32v V8's ;-) - a '99 Caddy STS... 305hp to the front wheels nice and fun ;-) but doesn't beat 375 to the rear!

Regards,

Steve

Welcome to the forum, Steve. The more the merrier. Mind you, you seem to have a spare camshaft and 16 spare valves on board. Still, useful if you need a spare "proper" V8. He he.

NICE car, where d'ya get it? I haven't seen a Z for sale for ages (apart from the same ones at Claremont) I knew I should have got one when there were a few around!

luSIfer: my previous 'vette only had one cam and 16 less valves; sadly 75 less hp ;-)

Malc350: got my ZR1 in Wigan; part-exed my '92 LT1, 100% stock and 42000 miles (red) + £7000 for my current '91, which has 38000 miles but now 40,500!

I think that was quite a good deal!

These cars are always miles away aren't they? (unless you live in Wigan?) That must be Andy Smith's car (?) After spending every weekend driving all over hee place looking for a vette I remember seeing that car for sale but when I saw where it was I thought "bloody hell, could't be any further away could it?!" I knew it was a nice well-known car but I'd just caome back from Leeds on another fools errand so I'd had enough.

Ironically I saw this Callaway for sale and curiosity got the better of me, just my luck it was in s*dding Stockport!! (bought it though! )

If I see a vette for sale locally I might just buy it out of principal!

Yep, it is (well it isn't now ) Andy Smith's vehicle... Which means that the car seems to be pretty well known!!

Andy had a private plate, which he removed and left me with some ugly Jxxx yyy plate straight from Swansea...

Had a look around the normal sites, and not much was available... C4 VET owned already ... so got C4 KOH, which - short of the "the" - should about say C4 King O' [the] Hill...

Absolutely love the car... too much with full power in the wet though...

And I should add that since I live in N Yorks, Wigan is only about 90mins drive cross-country... So no problems picking it up...

Once last, sad, sentimental drive there in my beautiful LT1, and drove back (quite gingerly at first!) in the Beast.

Andy took me out in the ZR1, and I must say it was *way* quicker than I imagined... I'd have thought the ZR1 was only a bit quicker than the 300hp LT1, but no... when Andy took me out in it, he scared the s**t out of me in it...

You still running those Goodyears that were on it in your photos ??

Best thing I ever did was replace them with pilots, makes it a different car.

Sharp looking ZR-1 you got there, they're great aren't they?

Scared the s**t out of myself the first time I took mine for a thrash. When I took my neighbour out in it, he was gripping his door handle with both hands

My Goodyears went in the bin as well, replaced with Nitto Drag Radials for some serious traction action

I'm not so sure that the Jxxx ATO plate was so inappropriate. JATO stands for Jet Assisted Take-Off...
