I need to make some posters / banners to simply say " Furniture sale" on A4 paper, landscape.
I have word, but that only allows up to 72 point.
Can some one recommend a freeware program to allow me to do this please?

Word only lists up to 72 point in the size dropdown, but you can just click in it and type in any size you want.

Can also use WordArt in Word for more fancy '3D' fonts

As already said, Word can display much bigger font sizes. Press CTRL & ]

(that's the square bracket) to increase the font size (use the other square bracket to decrease it).
