Brooklands New Years Day Rally

Each year Brooklands starts the New Year with an 'Open' Club day. All vintage,classic and modern car clubs are welcome. Many Members and Friends arrive in their Classic and Vintage cars, so please come along and enjoy a relaxing day ater the festivities. Normal Museum entry prices apply on the day and the Sunbeam Tearoom will be open for light lunches and snacks. Gates open at 10.00am and close at 4.00pm. I think this might be a goer. Me and Joospeed (and Griffdude) are staying at Ceejay's house on NYE. Think we're going to make a spirited attempt to get down there and meet up with my sister and her husband (and Chimaera).

The Nemo car was interesting - they were telling us that to get it to spin in the film, they fitted it with a contraption that squirted a mixture of water and washing up liquid in front of the rear wheels.

An excellent day out. Weather cleared up nicely in the afternoon - enough for a stroll along the bank.

I parked next to the 360 for a while in my Corvette, shame I didn't take any piccies. I'm a member so just dropped by for a scout about and a drink in the members bar. Shame I didn't check it out on PH's otherwise I wouldn't have been on my own!
Saw a tuscan arrive and park the other side of the 360 soon after I got there.

To answer your question - it's a '350/350' - designation L-46. Basically this means 350 cubic inches 350 horsepower - a high compression (11.1) 5.7 litre small block which is the original engine. One of the most powerful small blocks until the newer vettes in the 80's. More cammy than standard small block and manual transmission only - there was no auto option for this engine as it was not designed to be an auto cruiser.
I have straight through 'chambered' exhausts on it so no boxes to mess up the rumble. Guy in a tuscan pulled up alongside me recently and said it was the best engine he's ever heard, which was pleasing......
