Now, if you were coming down to the Isle of Wight, I could help!

Assuming you are coming from London, straight down the M3 and onto the ferry at Portsmouth which goes to Fishbourne. Alternatively you could go from Southampton to East Cowes or Lymington to Yarmouth.

www.wightlink.co.uk for Portsmouth or Lymington and www.redfunnel.co.uk for Southampton. Play about with the special offers pages and different time options on those webpages to get the best deal or it can be expensive.

There are plenty of campsites to choose from but if you peace and quiet try one of the ones on Military Road between Chale and Freshwater.

Thanks mate. I'll check them out. I'm coming with an eldery relative too sonam looking for a nice hotel. I'm no sure what our plan on once we get there. I guess that will affect the boat we get out there!

For hotels try the Hambrough in Ventnor or the Priory Bay near St Helens.
