Hi All,

Debating purchasing one of these.. anyone on here got one, really fancy getting into the world of very long exposures... anyone know if if this camera has "b" setting (or whatever they might call it in the digital world)

I don't think you would necessarily need the B setting. the exposures would go up to 30 secs which should give you ample time to run around with a torch making pretty pictures. but saying that, i am sure on full manual mode there is a B setting.

personally i have never needed the B setting but i wouldn't class myself as an accomplished photographer so others may say differently.

I just practiced trial and error, you'll soon get a feel for it.

My 300D certainly had a bulb setting.

Be surprised if you can buy one now though, unless second hand.

Don't forget a remote release too. And one that can "hold down" the button - bulb on these isn't a case of "first click open, second click shut", it's open for as long as you hold down the shutter button.

I'm not sure how much extra the 350d is but it can't be much, and it's a far more accomplished camera than the 300d. Much much better in high iso situations and generally faster to use. It also has B.

Yep i'd go for the 350D...

Ive got a 300d and the noise it produces is shocking even at 100iso.... although it is almost 7 years old now.
