Does anyone here use a shower cover on their Chimaera? I am moving to a new place, and it doesn't have covered parking - what are my options for keeping the car protected (as best I can, anyhow?)

Thanks.

Mine's outside all of the time without any problems. I do have a Leven Hood Cover which I don't use as the car is (now) pretty water tight. I am considering selling it!

A hood cover may be a good idea, especially on a frosty morning, but I would steer clear of a full cover. No matter how well fitting it is it will flap in the wind and dull the paintwork.

I also use the Leven hood cover. Does a very good job at keeping dirt and pigeons sh*te away. Have to fit it carefully though as extended use can damage the paintwork slightly - basically it's got to be used with common sense, i.e. put it on a clean car, or at least clean up the areas which are directly in contact with the cover.

If you are leaving it outside the Autoglm fabric hood treatment/cleaner kits are great. Water just beads up and runs off. Thus they don't soak it through and rot the fabric. It needs retreating periodically but definately worth doing.

www.leventechnology.co.uk/ £150 for a Chimaera/Griff.
I'm only considering selling mine right now as I want to make sure it really is watertight first, and wait for the garage to be built!
But after that.....

A word of caution withthe car covers, I had one with a Griff and was warned by a bodyshop that covers take the sheen off the paint over a period of time.

I had no choice but to use the cover (as car leaked like a sieve and no garage) and tey were right. The paint had quite obviously dulled where the cover constantly rubbed against the paint.

Worth thinking about.
