Driving down to Alpe d'Huez at Christmas - Anyone got any ideas of waht the cost of fuel and tolls will be from Calais to AdH?

Tolls will be approx 67 euro and it's 930km distance. Cost of fuel depends on whether you are driving a supermini or a V8 pick-up.

And don't forget your snowchains.

Thanks...is that toll cost one way - Calais->Alps? Not sure who is driving yet, but either way will most likely be a 2 litre diesel (VW GTDI or Ford TDCI). Got the snow chains ready from a previous trip...

Yes. I'm sure you can do the maths re the fuel consumption. Diesel prices in France are about the same as here.

Use the route planner on www.viamichelin.co.uk which will work out distance and cost of tolls for you (and fuel costs as well).
