I remember seeing a link where you could upload a brief and an amount you are willing to pay and people would then send their proposals for a new logo. Winner obviously gets the money.

Anyone know of it?

Used them a few times for logos, the bigger the prize the more time and options you will get, What was the process like for Websites, I would have always assumed that a new website design couldnt really be done without alot of imput not only in idea but also in content, text, pictures etc from the client ? what was the process like ?

Or if you prefer the human touch, I know a very skilful (and affordable and affable) designer in mid-Essex; PM for details.

I'm not sure website design is any different from any other design project, it starts with a good brief. We supplied the copy, brief and asked them to design a homepage to that brief. This style will then be used for the rest of the site. The process works really well, you set a winners fee and can guarantee the prize. We set a high prize and guaranteed it, this ensured lots of entries. You then give each designer feedback by commenting on their design and award stars out of five. The other designers can read the comments and see the designs of other designers as well as their own. They then resubmit designs and you keep commenting until you are happy. In the end we stopped new designers submitting because they were basically reading all the comments, looking at the design with the most stars and copying it with slight variation. We didn't think was fair to the original designers who came up with the concepts. We have also agreed with the winning designer that we will contract them for x number of hours a week, so they can design the rest of the site and do other work for us.
Thats interesting, I'd like to see the final site...

Mr D.

If you send me a mail, I'll send you the design/code that £250 bought me from 99Designs.com. It worked very well, I just haven't put the site live, as I shifted away from that line of thought, but it'll give you an idea of what you get...
