Hi i have a new Central Heating timer that i need a little help with on how to wire it up,
This is what it says on how to wire it

N L 1 2 3 4

Mains Fused HW OFF CH OFF HW ON CH ON

Any ideas?

N and L are your 230v live and neutral supply to power the clock.

CH off you won't need.

HW off you may need if you have a 3 port valve instead off 2x 2 port valves. If you do have a 3 port valve, it should be wired up to the grey wire on your 3 port valve. Don't quote me as some valves use different coloured wires.

HW on should be wired to the common on your cylinder stat

CH on should be wired to the common on your room stat

im not sure what valves i got or how many all i know is this system is about 40 years old

Chances are you'll have gravity hot water and pumped heating.

Try the honeywell website, they usually have step by step guides for wiring of new programmers, doesn't matter if the new one you have isn't honeywell as most new programmers use the same format.
