Copying a programme from sky + to a DVD

I have a series of programmes taped from the TV on SKY +. Can I transfer them to DVD? We have a DVD recorder connected to the TV. Any way this can be done easily and quickly?

No from memory, because it is encoded and the format won't be recognised by the DVD player.

Wrong, just connect the scart lead to the DVD recorder,then loop back to tv, job done

Yup, and make sure your using a fully wired SCART so that it has RGB from the Sky box (saves mashing the video into composite and back again)

Yes if it's not protected. Protected stuff tends to be only Movies and Sport (there'll be a "C" in the top right of the programme info banner).

Connect the second Scart from your Sky box to the DVD and tune the DVD to the Sky output. On the Sky box, press play and start the DVD recording. Whether you can copy the protected stuff depends on how fussy your choice of DVD recorder is.

Never tried copy direct to DVD as the box is showing it live, only from recording on the Sky box so don't know if that makes a difference

Never had any problems, only thing is you cannot watch Sky at the same time.

I assume there's no way of getting programs off the sky box digitally via the USB? Never looked into it but would be rather handy...
