Thank you to all who gave me advise re service history on a Griff, I'm about to order 'The Bible' now. My next step is to try and decide which Griff to go for, 4lt / 4.3 / or 5lt. I am not a quick driver nowadays but are performance differences on these varients worth concerning myself about or just buy a good car whatever CC. I know its down to me at the end but your views would be appreciated.
Its been a long time since I last drove a TVR, can't wait.Confused

If I were you I wouldn't commit to any particular model, just try em all and you'll start to know what appeals to you. You can't do it any other way, good luck and an excellent choice sir

Do you have a particular budget in mind? That's always a good place to start.

Yep, my budget is around the 15k mark give or take. I'm sure in the good ole days a new Griff if pre ordered at the motor show could be had for £13500. Nice.

Not quite - IIRC the price of a 4.x when new was about £24K.

IMHO £15K will get you an early 500 or a good 4.x and some change. I think I'd go for quality and condition and plump for a good 4.x. You'll still blow away nearly everything on the roads and they're getting rarer.

However there are always exceptions and you may stumble across a good 500 going cheap for some reason. Just keep your eyes open and be ready to punce when/if you find what you want. Enjoy!

£15k for a very tidy early 500? Keep an eye on the PH classifieds!
