I'm sure one of you photography experts/fans/enthusiasts will be able to help me. Some months back one of the BBC channels (I think it was BBC4) ran a documentary about a photographer, French, I think, who travelled in Africa taking photos of people and places at that time still pretty much unknown to the average European. It was around the turn of the 20th century, I think. I know that the amount of equipment he had to haul around was enormous, and that it was an epic journey. Can anyone help me with his name, and any literature there may be about him and his travels? Many thanks
