Windows 7 final release candidate update question
Discussion
The Release Candidate will update (via Windows Update) in the same way as a normal copy of Windows 7.
I'm just installing the retail version of Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. I wondered whether to perform an upgrade from teh RC but decided that as it hadn't been reformattted for a while I'd start from scratch and waste many hours this weekend! My desktop already has it on as an upgrade and that will be reformatted when I have some time.

Edited to Add. If you're putting it on your main PC to evaluate it, fair enough. But be aware that it will start to shut down every two hours from March 2010.

Thanks very Skier, every 2 hours.... Im going to go back to windows XP then
The Release Candidate (RC) was free to download to allow users to see if they liked Windows 7, provide feedback and de-risk the final release to manufacture. You cannot expect Microsoft to allow this version to run forever fully supported.Regards
