Not-so conventional model kits
Discussion
Does any one know of an outlet for the above? In my youth i used to build 1:25th kits, mainly trucks and the odd bit of construction plant. A favourite was the Caterpilar D8 bulldozer by AMT, it still appears on the bay but attracts figures approaching £80 which frankly is hard for me to justify. Anyone got any ideas, inspiration? Is there a manufacturer that still does construction plant or even agricultural equipment? Any scale considered, this niche seems to be pretty well covered in die-cast but i frankly prefer to build and the opportunity to modify the kit. Thanks in advance...
These people;
http://www.asam.co.uk/
produce some kits of pretty specialised subject matter. Their website isn't the best but can be negotiated eventually.

If you are focusing on the more obscure, you're more than likely to get what you want or at least close to, with white metal kits.
I've built a few ASAM kits for people now and their quality and fit is normally very good. I only had an issue with one kit but that was down to dubious research documentation being provided by the commissioner.

Have a look at anticsonline.co.ukGo to Plastic Kits, then Vehicles. You'll find ranges of 1/24 & 1/25 trucks, trailers and fire engines............even some AMT stuff. Prices seem to be £30 - £50. Good hunting.
