Further to my post, hopefully below. I now have a more urgent and serious problem.

I have had my CPU and CPU fan off to refit having cleaned with Artic Cleaner and new Artic paste applied to try and solve an overheating problem.

All refitted ok, but when I push the power button nothing happens. I've tried an alterantive CPU and had the same result.

The green 'power' light on the motherboard lights up, and I can hear the speakers humm when power is applied so presumably power is getting through at least to some areas. Any ideas of where to trouble shoot on this one?

Grateful for any help.

I would have a look at the CPU heatsink again and make sure it is on with the paste in the right places - thats happened to me before where the heatsink didn't quite go back on properly..!

Remove and re-seat any memory sticks and PCI/AGP cards fitted. What model of CPU is fitted?
