Another clutch question
Discussion
Recently had my 400 serviced, which included replacement of the clutch cylinder (under warranty) because it was leaking.
Since the service, the pedal has felt different. In particular, when pressing it in and letting it back out it is almost like there is a very fine ratchet in there, because the pedal seems to go through steps (albeit very small, gentle and regular ones). Difficult to describe, so I can only liken it to the difference between a staircase and a slope (not very helpful, I know!).
This even happens when the gearstick is in neutral, so it's not a problem with the clutch engaging. Interestingly, there is no such feeling when I depress the pedal with the ignition switched off - it just feels totally smooth, like it used to.
Do I have a problem, or is it just that I am feeling now what I would have felt before had the cylinder not been leaking (i.e. is it now as it should be)? Not too bothered if there's a problem, because the warranty should pick it up.
Cheers,
Paul.
