Just got an email from Chris Mann the TOTB III organiser.

He has reserved 5 places for Corvettes based on the 5 places we had last year.

What I need to know from you guys is do you want these places? or more or less?

I want one of the places, I know Cliffy wants one, does blackzr want one? Mr. Testicle again? ZR1368?

Let me know if you are DEFINTELY interested as I have to give Chris your name etc. and you also have to cough the dosh (£85 last year).

If you need more details of what TOTB III is then email me privately.

The sooner you let me know the better chance of us getting more places.

Yes Mr Vetteheadracer sir, I definately want one please. I have just ordered a set of ultra sticky DOT approved race wear (from the Pettifor family) for that very meeting and a couple of others to get in some practice. If you are coming up to discuss wings and things this weekend I will give you the money.
Have you seen the latest dates for the LME 1000K race series? The race at the Ring is now the weekend before Hockenhiem.

Don't think I'll enter this year as I have no improvements to make it worth my while. Haven't heard anything from Richard Ross lately but I expect he'll be interested, and hopefully Joe's paint will have had 365 more days to dry off.

At least team Elsie should be able to improve their time !

Hi Guys,

Been lurking about, mostly under the Z, which has been off the road for a while as I'm changing the clutch.

I'm definitely interested, if there's a space going, thanks for the mention Mr T.

Nige, I'll e-mail you.

The vids are taken off the DVD we got permission to take some clips off it from Chris, providing there was a link back to his site

Nadine's viper is fairly standard
just a few homemade 'tweaks'

The viper team has been given 8 places, with 10 wanting to run his year so far. The first 5 spots going to the last years competitors

I think it's stupid if there are 8 Viper places and 10 Vipers wanting to run, and if there is over-demand for Corvette places, but no extra places given to meet the demand.

I know that there are 2 Skyline teams running consisting of 10 cars in total for each team, and they are likely to get double points as there are twice as many cars running (if that's how it works) - one for the 4wd GT-R people, and one for the RWD GTS people, not exactly fair, is it?

Think I will have to get a copy of the DVD !,

I think this year both the Vipers and Corvettes will be better prepared for this event, and I know there will be some friendly rivalry !!

Just looking at the times for Cliffs ZR1 I think he will be very close to the top cars, I know he had a lot of problems last year but just comparing times:

1/4 mile he had 12.4 with a speed of 116 - compared with Nadines Viper and the SupraTT etc of around 11.7 + 12.37 and both 110 ish.
I am no expert on this, but to my basic thinking this Means that with roughly 3/4 mile to go he is already ahead on speed and this is roughly the point that the ZR-1 really gets moving....

Personally I would love to enter if there is a space and although I only have a few "Homemade tweaks " etc myself they were done by Geoff !! I doubt I will be one of the top cars but would love to beat some of the Jap cars (or a viper or 10 !!)

I think a few trips to Santa Pod are called for to create some launch technique.. ZR1 for Fun will you let me know the next time you go and give me a few pointers for launch. Obviously I will be approaching Geoff for tips on what to avoid doing on the handling course !!

......avoid the cones would be my advise!

BTW Geoff "kitty litter" Jeal is the worst person to ask about avoidance....he is the guy you wanna talk to about hitting thing (other cars, gravel traps, AK Motorsport employees given the chance, oh and of course the Jack Daniels)! (Only kidding Geoff).

Vipers are gonna be far stronger than last year! Some will be packing up to a 800 bhp punch, making last years effort a bit of a joke. Our own car(standing mile 178 and 1/4 12.1 @ 127mph) will be over 200 bhp up on last year and won,t be running on 5 year old michellins with over 12,000 miles on them!something far more sticky is the order of the day,so you can get an idea of what times we hope to post>(in the 10,s and high 130,s would be nice and with the wifes demon high speed runs she hopes the extra power will shove her into the high 180,s or in 190+ for the high speed run)But i,m aware of other Vipers with even more power than ours being developed over the winter!!

Your posts have to be the most funniest and interesting as of late.

Is your car designed to take corners or is it just for straight line (drag suspension, etc)?

Got any info on the 'other' Vipers with more bhp or are you making it up to scare the Vette people?

I guess I will have to hope to just beat some of the lesser Jap cars then !

I also know that there is a lot of work being done to the Vipers this year and am looking forward to them hopefully beating the Supra etc. At the end of the day (after the friendly rivalry etc) I have a lot of respect for the vipers and the owners are really great people.

I missed the times for your run on the table on the TOTB site, They are really good times. Hope you can get the improvement on the figures that you want.
I also agree that a huge problem with both the vetes and vipers will be putting the power to the ground, What tyres are you thinking of ?
Also how much power did you have at the last event and how much does a viper actually weigh ? I am just trying to work out what I can expect to do.
It would be good to perhaps organise a trip to Santa pod for both Vettes and Vipers ?

Nige - is there still a place for me ?
