Has anyone been to mauritius in February? Any ideas what the weather is like. Looking for a couple of weeks of sun, in Feb. Looking at Mauritius, maldives, and various places in the Caribbean. Found a good deal to mauritius though with convenient flight times, just a little worried about the weather!

Feb is supposed to be good weather.

I can absolutely recommend this place if you're trying to keep costs down: Maison d'Ete

thanks for this. Just what I wanted to hear! Thinking of the Pearle Beach Resort, or the Jalsa Beach Hotel and Spa. They both seem to be offering the best deal at the moment, not been to mauritius before so don't really know what to expect.

Can't help you with February as we honeymooned in October, however I can recommend Legends.

Expect extreme poverty just outside the Hotel grounds, I didn't expect that & that was coming straight from SA !

Driving/roads are interesting too esp the 3-4ft drop offs at the sides. Lovely beaches though & nice and peaceful.

I strongly advise all inclusive at Legends hotel, it is by a large margin the best hotel I've ever been to.

I got married in mauritius in November 01 and holidayed in Maldives in Jan 08. IMO Mauritius was not a patch on Maldives. Where we stayed the sea was not clear, the sand was not white and it was not "paradise" whereas the Maldives......definitely paradise.

Completely agree with the above. Particularly if you elect to stay somewhere as good as The W Retreat. Paradise on Earth cloud9

My one lasting memory of Mauritius is the singularly unattractive wall to wall planting of sugar cane.

Was looking at going next month. Apparently it is best avoided February/March as is goes into rainy season big time.
