Can anyone point me in the right direction for liability insurance for my dog? Everywhere I try wants to cover vet bills, or kennel fees etc. The dog came from a rescue shelter and has so many pre-existing medical problems that any vet fee coverage is pointless. All I want is liability coverage in case she runs out into the road and causes an accident, or similar. Any ideas?

If my dog eats the mail man it is covered under the liability section of my home insurance.

If the Vet Fee one is cheap enough (which if they exclude most things I'd hope it would be) that would do wouldn't it? (Assuming you get one with a liability clause !).

You could try nfu mutual (http://www.nfumutual.co.uk/you/cat-dog-insurance/index.htm). I haven't had dog insurance with them, only horse insurance, but the horse insurance was broken down into separate requirements as to what you needed (ie, liability, tack cover, vets cover), so I don't know whether they'd do the same sort of thing for dog insurance.

The ones including vet fees come in around the £300 PA for our dog ( 10yrs old, many previous medical issues ). We have had the normal "cover all" pet insurance for the last three years, but after trying to claim twice and being turned down due to "pre-existing" conditions I'm getting fed up with paying for something I can't use. Everything appears to be somehow linked to previous conditions, even when our vet stated in writing that it wasn't mad !
As reguards the house insurance, it only covers the dog while at home, not in the road outside or in the park ( if she were to get in a fight with another dog for example ), so not ideal.
