I'm not with Register1 but if I ever had cause to change my hosting/domain name provider I'd go with them.
Not because of the recommendations on here but simply because Jamie (sp) gave me a lot of advice FOC and of no benefit to him -just straight forward simple advice with no ulterior motive.
By the way OP the cheapest will not be the best, trust me!
got a domain with register1
it was on fasthosts old system, so registered with them on their new system, after a lot of hassle, they told me that it was impossible to do internal transfers and they did not have a clue when it might work, ended up getting nominet transfer
still waiting to get cleared on some tech stuff with the people promisng things for the domain
