"No substitute for cubic capacity" ... That looks a well sorted car. Nice exit and the streightline grunt cannot be argued with but then it has an extra 2000cc .whare was it filmed?

I believe it's Portland International Raceway, in Oregon, USA. It's the Pacific Northwest chapter of the PCA (Porsche club)

Here's a closeup of the car owned by Don Hanson, age 56.

Hiya DS - any info on that 928? - looks and sounds stupendous. If only we could access such performance enhancements in the UK....

As a former 928-owner, I'm not surprised to hear that this car is out-grunting the 911s, but it's very frustrating not to be able to watch the movie! I use an Apple Macintosh and there doesn't appear to be any software that opens .wmv files.
Can anyone advise?

Hey Tarka, sorry you are unable to see the stuff. I suggest you toss the Mac and get a real computer, sorry, I couldn't resist.

Actually, you may want to view this from a friends computer.

Here is a link to the car, driver, bio, spec, the whole 9 yards. It's a 215-MPH car. You'll see a link to other 928 racers too, and there is actully a world of info out there in the US for these cars. I drove one today, and it's an awesome piece of work, barking through that intentionally gutted ANSA exhaust system.

regards, and happy reading,

Dogsharks

I have a Mac. And you can get wmv files to run - just go to the Microsoft website through to the Mac section and you can download a version of wmv for OSX.

Mine works a treat. And a Mac is of course a zillion times better than Windows. A Mac is a Porsche while Windows is a Vectra. Just cos a Vectra is more common does'nt make it better

Toppstuff is right.

Windows Media Player for mac works fine and plays the wmv files without a problem.

Keep the mac... anyone who tells you to sling it is just jealous!!

Thanks guys - just downloaded the player and seen the clip - impressive driving! Glad I'm not paying his tyre bill, though.

And no one's going to talk me out of using Macs - I've had them ever since 1985 and currently run a G5 dual processor with a 23-inch Apple screen - simply stunning performance and looks to go with it. The rest of my family runs PCs and I'm used to their taking the p**s. They find it difficult to hide their drooling when they look at that screen, though!

I've had and used loads of differant desktops. Macs are superior to any thing else. always update the operating system though.
best things are good support, beautiful picture and limited choice of software, only the decent stuff gets written for Macs.
And no worms or viruses of note.
Microsoft are so scared of Mac that they bought out the makers of virtual PC. rumours are that apple are writing a version of OSX operating system to run on windows systems. bye bye Bill.

Apple rules, never let me down since 1986. Worked with pc for 6 months . . . total disaster, but then again: those guys just don't know and are so used to problems. It's their work . . .

You're right. I regret starting this up. Let's talk Porsche.
