Ducati Streetfighter S
Discussion
1. You'll look cool
2. Especially if it's red
3. Or black
4. and has Termi's
5. it's fast
6. It has superb traction control
7. It's a hooligan bike
8. I really want one.
9. It's achingly beautiful
10. It does stonking wheelies.
Not such a convincing arguement against, but it's a Streetfighter S FFS!!

Ok, list your reasons why I shouldn't. Go!
Because you aren't good enough to ride one Have you checked out an MV Brutale 1098RR ?
Nice MCN video of Streetfighter V MV Brutale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_qwppl4YS4&fea...
Naked bikes should be either powerful and brutish, or laid back and easy going.
The StreetFighter is powerful, but it is too high strung a machine with sportbike positioning, that makes you think you really should have just bought the 1098/1198 in the first place. Or gone for the Monster 1100.
Monster gets my vote for a naked Duke.

I like them. But I think I'd also like a Monster 1100S and the £5k change in my pocket.
It depends. If you're buying on finance then Ducati charge an inordinate amount of interest on a loan for a 1100S, whereas the Fighter is on 0% interest. Over three years there's about a grand's difference in the total repayments between the two.

Because the std Streetfighter is 2.5k cheaper (and 2KGs heavier -WOW!)and unless you're a riding god and suspension guru for 99% of the time the Streetfighter will feel every bit as good as a Stretfighter S but you'll have 2.5k in your pocket to fuel it/insure it/cover it in CF etc etcI quite fancy the new multi, but then I add up the cost of keeping the monster ( only 2 years old soon)
buying a 916/96 senna to drool over, and a 600 desmo duo race bike, and still having enough for season in the Tuscan!!!
the dry clutch duke's only sound like a bag of nails when stationary, when moving they make the greatest noise on earth..

you shouldnt because its a Ducati so will be as reliable as a choccy ashtray and sound like a big bag of nails when its running
If you had owned a Ducati you wouldn't have written that. You are just perpetuating the myth borne out of a period in the in the 80's when the electrics were not that good. Ever since the mid 90's when the build quality was improved they are now as good as anything if they are looked after and serviced.

Thats in the "pro" column for me when totting up reasons to buy a Ducati.
I had an old 900SS and the dry clutch/bag of spanners/skeleton wking in a biscuit tinnoise music was rather enjoyable, especially when people who didn't know any better wandered over to offer helpful advice on adjusting your valves to quieten it.
