Having just finished chatting to a fellow SE owner about how reliable mine was... I went for a blast and...
Reversed into a stone cracking my rear lower valence DOH!

Got an increasing wiff of petrol on RH bends, thought I might have a leak (used to leaky SU Carbs!!) could not find anything wrong so continued to be hit with a stutter, loss of power and "CHECK ENGINE" light.

On restarting the fault seemed to go but as soon as I tried to accelerate it recurred. I could only cruise home carefully.

If I let the car idle, it runs (smoothly) for a bit then cuts out ?!? Fault code is 3.3 "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Circuit- Signal voltage High"

Anyone out there who can advise....

Ta.

Scotty, Looking at a book, as you do, it says that the MAP sensor, is vulnerable to fuel entering the vacuum hose when the diaphragm may be adversely affected. If it is a separate unit it is quote relatively inexpensive.. Perhaps the sudden stop, going backwards threw fuel the "wrong way" on to the MAP sensor? The book is theDiagnostic Fault Codes Manual from Haynes. Hope this helps.
