What bike? (off-road)

Hi all,
I'm looking to get a new bike for running around on, it will be exclusively off-road on the old mans farm as I am only 16. I'd like to go for a two stroke as last night I sold my first bike a 140cc Pit Bike, there rubbish I know, but everyone has to start somewhere! Due to a budget of around £1000 is there anything to look for on two strokers of this age(probably around 96-99)? And suggestions of bikes to look at is welcome
