Was thinking on upgrading perf. on the 911 3.2; but was still in 3 minds what to do. Either a 993 C2, upgrade or a 964 C4. Drove a 993 then the 964 today, decided to go the 964 route; i felt more at home in the 964 C4. pick it up in a week or so. Apologies to the ninemeister who e-mailed me some suggestions on the upgrade for the 911, and I did a rambling reply.

The 964 is the one detailed at the back of march ed. of 911 & Porsche world (page 137). Only problem is havent told wife; maybe she won't notice ....

See if i can keep this one longer than 4 months (which was how long i had the 911).

The 964 is an excellent car, and plenty of potential for upgrade too, just ask Colin or see his 964 micro-site

I found the 964 to be modern enough to be fast and useable every day, and yet still raw and sporty enough to give that essential 911 charisma, and hence an excellent 'best of both worlds' choice.

The fact that prices came down so much in 2001/2002 was perfect timing

The prices for 964s seem good when compared to 993 prices. I still love the look of the 993 but driving the 964 seemed to do it for me, and also have the pleasure of saving another £12k or so in differential price.
