New heads

For those of you who know me, you might like to know that my car is back on the road with its new heads. All I can say is " Rock and Roll!!!".

Apart from putting the distributor back in 180 degrees out, it was all very painless.

As to the results - forget the extra horse power - hear the noise! It used to sound like a noisey old V8. It now sounds like a very noisey old V8 that just may go as quick as it sounds!

Here's the painful bit: driving it easy for 1000 miles or so before you can feel the extra power!

DO I need to run Heads in???? Hope not. Any thoughts anyone?

A few circuits round the M25 late at night should do the trick!

I'm sure the new valves have to settle in to their new guides so I'd take it easy if I were you. Don't want to have a noisy V8 belching smoke too, makes plod take an interest !

Glad to hear you're up and running again - and I'm sure we'll all "hear" it soon.
Le Mans tickets now booked and paid, lighter evenings are coming on, it's time to get the season under way!

Steve B - glad you're back on the road and good to see you at Brooklands last weekend.
Steve C - I agree re the start of the season. I have already done one Pistonheads run (absolute loonies they are - the Gumball rally springs to mind) and would say that the Vettes need more of a physical presence at these type of events.
