My old Nissan Sunny, whilst faithful and incredibly reliable, wasn't exactly PH material. So the only solution is to go out and buy something cheap, rear wheel drive and with a big engine. Seeing as I've already had a Commodore, there's only one real answer. So today I picked up a Ford Falcon XF panel van

It's a 4.1 straight 6, with the ultra sporty front bench seat and column shift auto with a bed in the back. I never knew something with such a big engine could be so slow, but hey it does sound good. I think it's time to have a bit of light hearted fun. So since the paintjob is already somewhat dodgy, I'm thinking matt black (yes I don't normally like it, but I really think it would work on something like this.) Took it home and sprayed the wheels black

added the necessary stickers

and then got stitched up when I wasn't looking

Enjoy!

Well, its different! What purpose does that bulge serve at the back doors? Is it some kind of bumper?

Panel van? Um, it looks like a colourful hearse at the moment. I'm not sure that matt black paint will make it look like a stealth hearse biggrin

Class.

Please can I be the first to ask for some daft flames up the side of it?

Well, 20 minutes of photoshop and a barrel of laughs the end result is:

I added the comical flames as suggested!
I also slammed it and changed the wheels.
Hope this helps.

It was a super super quick one. and not a very good one to be honest, but it gives a general comical effect. Some of the ones i have done have taken circa 30 hours of work.

Haha, that brings back some memories!

Me and a mate bought one in Australia when we were backpacking.

Here she is:

How we lived for about 5 months:

Great fun, but so slow it was unreal! Ours had been converted to LPG, but it didn't work so it just meant that we spent half our lives filling up with petrol as it had a poxy litle tank. And it caught fire. We sold it to an American gentleman with a glovebox full of parking tickets in the end.

My brother bought a similar Ute, as his first car there, then a van. It looks like the b*stard son of a Ute and a Mk2 Escort van!

Finally gotten rid of the Gay Pride flag paint job

I know matt black is generally frowned on, but I think it rather suits it. Still needs a second coat in places, after that I'm going to put it up for sale. Still have about 6 weeks before I leave my current place. So that's time for one more interesting car before I have to get a van

So, not really knowing a great deal about aussie metal, is this the same as a Sandman? Again, not really sure what that is, just heard a load of aussie chaps shout it as something similar rumbled past.

eta; an aussie mate tells me a Sandman is a holden not a ford, but they look sort of similar.

sorry

That'd make an awesome murder van. Is the boot lined with plastic sheets?
