Went playing in my godfathers Gallardo on the weekend. It was the first in the country, recieved in the beginning of December. He bloody loves it and still has the Diablo to play with. A coupe of pics for you.

Has only covered 1400 miles in it so far but uses it most days. great fun and sounds like an F1 car when on song plus with E-gear it changes cogs very quicky. The 4wd sticks to the road like glue.

Saw a Gallardo in Harrogate a few weeks back. It was dark grey, very nice. It's on the shopping list, as soon as there's a local dealer and i have the cash...

Topcat - lucky guy!

How about a more detailed report of your impressions?

Whats the e-gearbox like?

Noise?

Grunt?

Poise?

Steering feel?

Is it the real deal, or is it a bit of an Audi compared to a Ferrari?

Love to hear your impressions....

I didnt get to take it out this time but my godfather says it is very capable.
Comparing it with the 355 and the diablo he says the 355 is stunning but hopless in the wet, the Diablo is superb in the dry and will quite happily hit standing water in a corner well in to 3 figures and the gallardo is simply amazing and you can drive it hard in any weather, the 4wd just sticking it to the road.
He didnt want e-gear but as it was the first car in he had to take what was there. He know loves it and says when the engine is howling behind it just takes a nano second to change gear. he feels like M. Schumacher in an F1 car. build quality is german spec but is a little bland, well, for a lambo anyway.
Initial thoughts were to sell the car straight away for the premium but he is hanging on to it for a while. Fear not for it will be for sale as he has a gallardo barchetta and a murcky* barchetta on order.
If and when i get to take it for a burn i will let you all know how long it takes me to stop grinning.
